Nominated best jazz album by London's jazzFM for "Teak All Eye", their debut opus, the band is the collaborative effort of dj Taha and flutist/saxophonist Kolai. The lounge/house/nuJazz duo reside in Washington DC. They are often joined by local and international musicians both in the studio and on stage.

T-Kolai first received international recognition for the smash party hit Zouk! featuring Mustapha Akbar on vocals. The two are avid believers in blending the organic with the digital, paying respect to African icons such as Fela Kuti, Papa Wemba, Myriam Makeba while maintaining their attention on the dj's floor.

Most recently they have appeared on Deborah Bond's remix project AfterDay, contributing a lushly produced remix for her "Sweet Lullabies".
